Forgotten Nature, Rachel Yoon-ah Kim, drawing and acrylic paint.

These days, many people are living busy lives, like always being in work and school, resulting in us forgetting the importance of our nature. This exhaustion causes us to see nature as meaningless and not worth spending time with. My artwork showcases this situation. I wanted to express how important nature is in our lives. Part of the artwork is painted with beautiful trees, flowers, and a pond to illustrate how nature is beautiful and worth admiring. There are also various weeds to show how many people have not visited the area. The window shows a sign of hope that we can soon preserve nature’s true beauty. The drawing component of the artwork is a jail cell to symbolize how there is a barrier between humans and the experiences of Mother Nature. Nature is seen as insignificant when it really is important and worth the attention.
