My Favourite Part of Clarinet, Belle Wu, sketching pencil and watercolour.

When playing your instruments, have you ever noticed the beautiful parts of them? I have, and it’s the bottom part of the clarinet, behind the clarinet is my favourite piece of music. I decided to draw the bottom part of the clarinet because all the keys and the texture are combined so well in that specific part. For materials, I chose pencil sketching to preset the texture of the clarinet and it looks more vintage that way. In the background, I decided to draw out the flying music notes with colour so the music notes pop out of the art. For me, the flying music notes are like they come alive when playing my instrument. That specific part of the clarinet sounds deeper. I realized how much I already learned about the clarinet and how much I improved over the years of playing my instrument. I loved that part of my clarinet not only because of how it looks and how the texture is, but it’s the proof that I improved. Clarinet isn’t just playing the instrument, it’s about enjoying each musical notes going through your ears and out, and it’s also a special time I can jump out of my life and listen to the music I played.
