My name is Sophie, and I’m a Canadian immigrant from China. I grew up in an artistic family. My grandmother is a well-known traditional Chinese jewelry designer and sculptor. Under her influence, my father studied art and became a furniture designer. I have always doodled in drawing on any surface I could find since my earliest memory. As a teen who immigrated to Canada with my family four years ago, drawing has become a place of continuity that connects my previous life in Beijing and my new exciting adventure on Prince Edward Island in Canada. Sketching and painting are the media that I love the most.
